I began my MA in 2009, leading on from my degree with the notion that my work would probably retain some of the same ideals, but be influenced by a broader ‘contemporary dialogue’ that the MA cohort would offer. The work inevitably developed and changed quite considerably during this time. I would no longer call it ‘design’, rather leaning more towards Fine art at the present.

I am interested in exploring the idea of objects and surfaces which seem to retain a history, memory or narrative. ‘To live is to leave traces’ wrote Walter Benjamin. Cloth and its inevitable links to the home and the body fascinates me, and in my current studies I am continuing an investigation into themes around the interior, the body and cloth.
